-----today is a very sad day. one of our good friends joe hyland aka scum joe has passed on. from what i understand he got hit by a car, riding his skateboard home after a little session. i am at a loss for words. joe was a pretty epic guy. he would only ride those little zip zinger boards, and could to some rad shit on it. this isn't spos'd to happen to skateboarders. we are a different breed of human beings. we should all be at the retirement home talking about who did what, at what spot. arguing, who had a better kick-flip and just dying of old age. this just sucks. so take a minute when you are skateboarding with your friends to realize how rad skateboarding with all your friends is. so later on tonight after you have a fun session with your homies, raise a tall for our buddy joe. he was one in a million.

-----so, last saturday was the annual "joe jam". where we all get together to skate and for our fallen brother joe hyland. joe was definitely one of the most original humans i have ever met. he skated unlike anyone else. he rode a zip zinger the way most ride a regular board. any grind or flip trick you could do, he did it better and with more style on that little board. the mark he left on the santa rosa skateboard scene is legendary. so, raise a tall for my man joe!

A CHRISTMAS STORY AKA A BOARD SHORT.

-----so, every christmas since i have had kids. i have always had to build something. now, that they are older. all they want is electronics. it kinda made me feel weird. normally its my excuse to have a breakfast beer and play with tools. as i walked around my garage i noticed a old board sitting there next to my joe cruiser. joe, skated the zip zinger like a regular board by the way. that's when i figured out i was gunna build a new joe hyland cruiser. i figured i might as well use the ol' iphone and make a little "board short". raise one for joe tonight and hapopy holidaze everyone.

-----so today at the santa rosa skatepark we all gathered in memory to our fallen brother joe hyland. he is still on our hearts and minds everyday. it was a good day over all, even though the santa rosa police department tried to rain on our parade. we still kept it going......... see you on the other side joe.

-----a couple of sundays ago we had the annual joe jam in honor of our fallen brother joe hyland. everyone came out and had a good time. check marlons blog for all the awesomeness that he captured as well. also we got to use the lastest dad cam.....and yes it uses mini dv tapes. still keepin' it grimey. thanks again to all that showed up. we love you joe!

-----my buddy joe always rode the zip zinger. i have cut many out of old boards, but i just thought i would go out a get one. i had to take it out for its maiden/memorial cruise to remember my man. i couldn't think of a better way to break it in. you may have seen the insta version. but i added a lil' bit more for the remix. i am also adding it to the pabst powered button if you ever wanna watch it on the fly. miss ya joe.

ANTI -HERO SKATEBOARDS TURNS 18

-----so anti-hero skateboards turned 18 last week. they had a little birthday party at the protero skatepark in s.f. and after that a art show of board graphics by dennis mcnett. needless to say, everyone had fun. no broken bones and everyone had a good time. special thanks go out to tony and ash for the accommodations and my dude juice tiger for drinking brews with me. not to mention everyone for letting me barney out and take photos. happy birthday anti-hero!
